Internal Urethrotomy Set

The Internal Urethrotomy Set is a surgical instrument set used to treat urethral strictures. A stricture occurs when the urethra narrows due to factors such as inflammation, injury, or previous surgery, causing difficulty in urine flow. In this procedure, specialized instruments are used to incise the stricture from within, allowing the urethra to reopen and restore normal urine flow.

The urethra is a tube that carries urine from the bladder to the outside of the body. Normally, the urethra is wide enough to allow urine to flow freely. When the urethra narrows to the point that urine flow becomes restricted or slow, this condition is called a urethral stricture.

Surgical treatment for this condition is called urethrotomy. In this procedure, a thin guide wire (catheter) is passed through the stricture, and the narrowed section of the urethra is then opened using a specialized instrument that carries a camera and a cutting tool through it.
